To easily test our M-JPEG200 100% software codec with your ADV202 streams you can download and freely use our DAT2AVI command-line utility.

This utility does not decompress and recompress the ADV202 stream, it only encapsulates JPEG200 frames as contained in the BIN or DAT file in a common AVI container.

You can dowload some ADV202 streams from Analog Devices' FTP site:

•  hd_1080i_demo_2 (23 fps*)

•  Game_loop_20Mbit_720P (60 fps*)

•  HD_Test (30 fps* but this file suffers from field inversion**)

* 100% software playback in Windows Media Player on our reference Dual-Xeon 3.2Ghz test system.

** You can invert field order in codec properties. 

To convert files above to AVI you can download and use this batch file. Copy and extract all files (DAT2AVI.exe, BIN and DAT files, AllToAvi.bat) in the same directory and run AllToAvi.bat ...

And don't forget to download and install our codec !

DAT2AVI Usage:

ADV202 NTSC/PAL/1080i/720p DAT/BIN to AVI file converter.

Usage: DAT2AVI [-old|-bin] [-ADV2] <datfile>
-old Use old DAT file header format.
-bin Read BIN file format.
-ADV2 Create an AVI file with ADV2 FourCC instead of MJ2C.

Warnings:
- Uses VFW API, limited to 2GB AVI files.
- If AVI output file exists it will be overwriten.
- Input filename with complete path must be 255 car. max.
- Does not work with all ADV202 DAT/BIN files.
